My American Lit prof. has assigned us a project in which we pick an author and through researching their various letters, form up a characterization of said author, to the point that we will be able to act out this persona, and answer questions about our (their) life. Here’s the rub though, they have to either be very old, or very dead, otherwise there will not be sufficient source material for the project.
Almost all contemporary communication is technology driven… aside from a post card, how often do any of us actually send someone a letter? What intimate / personal legacy will any of us writers of today have to leave behind? Will it be a collection of blogs, emails and word processor files?
I agree with the article, in that, we should be wary of what exactly we post, because we will be linked to it indefinitely.
Btw, I am really enjoying you blog, count me in as a subscriber, I don’t want to miss out on anything new. ^^
