My God (Can Beat Up Your God)… KILROY LIVES!
Dennis rocked our worlds; both sides of the ‘border’ (hurr hurr
)
And he let us sing wif him too, yay! (I sort of expected that, but it was still an absolute wonder
)
His french was seriously adorable. And with his wife of 37 years on stage with him…
They were so beautiful and inspiring… ahhh, love ♥♥♥
They had the most beautiful silkscreen of Paradise, and I got to hear some old songs for the first time (and in concert-form too - that was such a freaking awesome ‘first’ experience!!
) -and- some nummy new material from his forthcoming album. Actually, maybe only one from the upcoming…
Heheheh
And I remember him telling us the title at the end of it and thinking, “Well, DUH that’s the title!” since it was so prominently featured in the song, and now, wonder of wonders - guess who can’t remember the name of it?
A-ha! Yes I do!! It was called “This Time Next Year”, and it RAWKED!
It was also very à propos, since this was his second visit to the Casino du Lac Leamy, the last time being nearly a year ago exactly I think, heheh
His new album is supposed to be ‘back to his rockin’ roots’, so to speak, and I think it’s out in a couple of months…?
I was so excited!! (what else is new?!)
At least I didn’t make nearly as big a fool of myself as at Eric Idle’s Greedy Ba$tard tour, ahahahahahah (ooh, hometown tour pics! So THAT’s where they stayed, heheh)
The poor guy was so tired, and I was talking his ear off and acting like a… well, the cheesy/dorky ‘fangirl’ that I am, tee hee
He noticed and commented on ‘how much fun it looked like’ I had been having :giggles/snort: (I was being -really- dorky in my enjoyment - when I’m enjoying music and/or stand-up/sketches - der, ANYTHING, I’m usually not afraid to show it, heheheh - I lose all ’sense’ of my surroundings sometimes
A ‘good’ kind of dissociation, I think *coughs* heheheh. He ‘tolerated’ my fangirl-ness very sweetly, heheheh. Another ’such a cutie!!!”
Back to Dennis!
I gots the coolest tees (a Kilroy Mr. Roboto shirt and a female (OMG THEY HAD MY SIZE YEEESSSS!) ‘Babe’ tee. I would have preferred ‘Lady’, but it was bright pink (baseball-type tees, so coloured sleeves, collar, etc.) and I had to make up my mind FAST, heheheh
(rarely happens!) - and I also got the ‘Dennis DeYoung and the Music of Styx - Live with Symphony Orchestra’ (it’s about time!). I didn’t get the DVD :coughs: I ran out of money (and a good thing, too!! hahahah). Fangirls and impulsive spending… Eheheh
Dennis and Suzanne online (right on the first page, among other glorious stuffs(!), there is the sweetest pic of Dennis and Hal from Celebritea(se) Duets (heheh, I’m referring to it as such, yet I also watched it rather religiously (but so did CO!!! muahahaha) :hangsheadinshame:
Heheh. At least it wasn’t an ‘Idol’ this or that - I have SOME standards… er… I’m talkin’ shit
).
ANYWHO, I went to Dennis and Suzanne’s site, and lo’ and behold - we’re in love with the same font (author - Brian Kent from ÆNIGMA FONTS :reminds self to put this in footer:)! :dreamysigh: It was simply MEANT TO BE!
Direct link to ‘Hello God’ lyrics, as posted below. What a beautiful song
(Am I warping your fragile little minds? Ah well…)
Hello God
Though you’re a million miles away
do you listen when I pray
can you hear me.Just a nod
I don’t need no holy sign
like turning water into wine
just to please me.
Cause I know I’m just a tiny speck
in your great big universe
and I’m not the kind of guy
who quotes your word chapter and verse
but I sure could stand to hear from you tonightHello God
I don’t mean no disrespect
but I thought I’d call collect
in case you’d answer
you see it’s odd
cause I’ve been feeling mighty weak
so I’d love to hear you speak
if you could sirAnd I know you’re wondering why it took so long for me to call
well I must confess I’m quite a mess
and I’m headed for a fall
so I sure could stand to hear from you tonightChorus
Hello God
I’m over here
all my faith
is lost in fear
I’ll need your grace
to help me journey on
cause I never felt so small
Hello God. Hear my callBridge
All of my life I know I’ve been blind
standin here alone on the shore
lookin for a light to point the way
to prove to me somewhere there was moreHello God
it’s only me
I’m like a ship
who’s lost at sea
I’ll need your grace
to help me journey on
cause I never felt so small.
Hello God,
hear my call
