Good Stuff
Job hunting is the pits, so allow me to distract here for a moment.
An email from a friend today containing this news was pretty exciting:
Good times will roll with fall solo set
The Ottawa Citizen 17 July 2007
Matthew Good will return to Ottawa in the fall.
Good will play the Bronson Centre — most recently the scene of the White Stripes secret “side show” during Bluesfest — on Oct. 18. Openers include Dala.
Good will play an acoustic solo set, featuring songs from his latest disc Hospital Music. He shows his range and eclectic sourcing on Hospital Music: the two cover songs on the disc are Moon Over Marin, by punk icons the Dead Kennedys, and True Love Will Find You in the End, by the quirky and gentle Daniel Johnston.
Tickets, at $27.50, go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday through ticketmaster.ca and livenation.com.
From today’s Ottawa Citizen, page B7 of the Arts section.
Here are links to the album bio and the Hospital Music Page, as seen on Matt’s website. Depending on where you live, you’ll be able to get his newest album in 2-3 weeks, starting July 31st here in Canada.
We saw Hawksley in May of last year at the Bronson Centre, which apparently seats around 800 people, but you sure couldn’t tell from the humble size of the place! Hawskley was enchanting as always, and we had a complete blast.
It was a very homey venue, so we’ll be looking forward to lining up around Lisgar Street again for some more amazing music when Matt makes a stop in our city this (…Thursday!) October 18th. There isn’t a doubt in my mind; the tickets will sell out quickly.

Hey Chickie,
How are ya? Hope things are good. Things around here get crazy during the summer with kids coming and going all day.
I’m off to cottage in Quebec this weekend, just my girlfriend and me, no kids, no hubbies, no phones. Pure bliss I tell you.
Hugs to you and your SO from me and mine.
